General description

One of the newest additions to the Maldives’ hospitality industry is The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands. Situated on the picturesque Fari Islands, this resort is setting a new standard in luxury hospitality.

Location

The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands is located in the North Malé Atoll, just a 45-minute speedboat ride from Malé International Airport. The resort is situated on three pristine islands, each with its own unique offerings. The main island, Fari Island, is home to the resort’s 100 luxurious villas, while the two smaller islands, Fari Beach and Fari Marina, offer dining, recreation, and entertainment options.

Accommodations

The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands offers a range of luxurious villas, ranging from one to three bedrooms. The villas are designed to provide a sense of seclusion and privacy, with private pools, outdoor showers, and expansive terraces. Each villa is equipped with modern amenities, such as high-speed internet, smart TVs, and Bose sound systems.

The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands offers a range of recreational and entertainment activities for its guests. The resort has a fitness center, a tennis court, and a marine biology center. The marine biology center offers a range of activities, including snorkeling, scuba diving, and sunset fishing. The resort also has a kids’ club, which offers a range of activities for children, including arts and crafts and treasure hunts.

Construction

The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands was designed by the Singapore-based architectural firm, Kerry Hill Architects.

The design of the resort was inspired by the natural beauty of the Maldives and the local architecture. The resort comprises 100 villas, each with a private pool, and is spread over seven islands in the Fari Islands archipelago. The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands opened in June 2021.

Sustainability

The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands is committed to sustainability and has implemented several eco-friendly practices. The resort has its own desalination plant, which provides clean drinking water, and a wastewater treatment plant, which recycles water for irrigation. The resort also has a coral propagation program, which aims to protect and restore the local coral reefs. In addition, the resort has implemented a waste management program, which includes recycling and composting.

Engineering Infrastructure

The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands is designed with a state-of-the-art engineering infrastructure that ensures a comfortable and safe stay for its guests.

The resort is reducing 233,600 litres of diesel per year by harnessing energy through solar panels. Air conditioning is offered through a sophisticated cross-ventilation system; sensors and lights are LED, further lowering carbon footprint. The complimentary still and sparkling drinking water served at The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands comes from the resort’s dedicated plant, purifed by Nordaq, a Swedish company celebrated for its premium and environmentally-friendly water solutions.

The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands has a robust fire safety system, which includes fire detection, suppression, and evacuation systems. The resort has a network of fire alarms, smoke detectors, and fire extinguishers that are strategically placed throughout the resort.

The resort’s engineering infrastructure also includes a comprehensive security system that ensures the safety and privacy of the guests. The resort has a 24-hour surveillance system, which includes CCTV cameras and access control systems.
