Gitex 2021: fiction that is turned into reality

The Gulf Information Technology Exhibition in Dubai is a vast exhibition space attended by thousands of companies and their representatives from all over the world.

Last year the travel restriction did not allow us to meet our clients and we had to move all meeting to the virtual space. This year, after lockdowns and curfews were lifted, we were glad to meet our clients and partners again face-to-face or better said mask-to-mask.

The atmosphere of the show sometimes resembled a fantastic movie and was more like a virtual space. It is very easy to lose a real sense when you constantly have to deal with robots, cobots, next-generation cars or holograms. The space was permeated with topics such as cybersecurity, coding, artificial intelligence, and data economics.

The Premium-Line team presented the solutions, the most popular and demanded components for building structured cabling systems. Most importantly, we held a number of meetings with partners, discussed the most pressing issues of work in modern, specific conditions. The key point that we drew from tête-à-tête communication is adaptability. Today, in an unstable environment, the most pressing aspect is to be flexible. And this applies to prices, logistics, and complete solutions. We must be ready for change at any time. To do this, it is necessary to think over several options as the situation develops at the same time which maybe challenging.

We’d like to inform you that in August, 2021 the Premium-Line Cat. 7A installation cable has passed the independent GHMT test and its certificate was updated.

The GHMT Test Summary:

• For testing, the Premium-Line Cat. 7A was selected the most complex Horizontal cabling model |Cross-connect – CP – TO Model.
• Testing of transmission parameters of a 4 Connectors Channel was performed according to the specifications Class EA in accordance with ISO/IEC 11801-1:2017.
• The maximum possible length of a permanent link was used – 90m.

In a new video on our YouTube channel, we show the features of a permanent link testing. The AEM TEST Pro CV 100 Multifunction Cable Certifier is used in this demo.

A permanent link is a more reliable test. It checks all static components of the communication circuits. It usually consists of a connector, a horizontal cable, and a patch panel port. It can also include a link consolidation point. Unlike a permanent link, channel testing involves testing the patch cords at each end. This test is not as reliable as patch cords are frequently moved or replaced. In addition, due to the design, the patch cords are unlikely to be in place when testing is required. And it may be that the patch cords, if used, will not stay connected after testing. Therefore, in practice, permanent link testing is an important part of any project, especially when the manufacturer’s 25-warranty is required.
