Premium-Line took part in the Cairo ICT exhibition

On November 25 – 28, 2018, Premium-Line Systems took part in the Cairo ICT exhibition.

Cairo ICT is an International Telecommunication, IT, Networking, Computing Fair & Forum for the Middle East and Africa. It is one of the most important events with regional and international presence both on the level of exhibitors or visitors. In 2018, it was 50,000 square meters of exhibition space and 8 conference rooms.

This year the slogan of the Event was “DRIVING TRANSFORMATION” and the main objective of ICT was transforming the world through innovative ideas, concepts and platforms.

The main aim of the Premium-Lines participation in this exhibition was to focus on the partner needs. The projects they involved in, are becoming more complex and requiring more innovations, new approaches for implementation. Our team tries to be as open as possible and uses every opportunity for communications. Only the mutually beneficial cooperation allows us to be successful so we have to be in touch with partners, colleagues and market leaders. We also focused on presenting our future plans and strategies as the strong player in the field of structured cabling systems.

In October of this year, the company Premium-Line has become a member of the international non-profit telecommunications association BICSI (Building Industry Consulting Service, International).

The Premium-Line Systems team presented the most popular market solutions that are widely used in various IT projects. These are copper and fiber optic patch cords, installation cables, patch panels, outlets, cabinets and workstation components for Cat 5e, 6/6A and fiber optic structured cabling systems.

We also focused on Cat 8 solutions as the projects are becoming more complex and requirements for information speed transfer are increasing. 40 GB Ethernet over copper cabling – it is not the future; it is the reality we meet today.

We are pleased to announce that the OM5 solutions are now available in the Premium-Line Systems product proposal.

As data processing centres have been becoming increasingly larger in recent years, the demand for higher bandwidth and higher data transfer rates is growing. Recently, OM5 was approved as a new type of high-speed Multimode fiber (MMF) for data centres. Here we’d like to consider some key features that you need to know about the OM5 fiber optic cable.

What is an OM5 cable standard?

OM5 or Wideband Multimode fiber (WBMMF), is the Multimode fiber (MMF) type that is developed to maintain wavelengths in the 850nm to 953nm range. It is considered as a new cabling solution for 40G and 100G transmission by implementing of SWDM (shortwave wavelength division multiplexing) technology.

OM5 Fiber Cable Principal Features

OM5 assures backwards compatibility with OM3 and OM4 cabling. It is also greatly cut the fiber count in 40G and 100G SWDM4 cabling. 40G and 100G transceivers operating over OM4 MTP fiber cable employ at least 8 fibers (100GBASE-SR10 uses 20 fibers), but 40/100G SWDM4 transceivers will operate only over two OM5 fibers. Multimode Optical fiber cabling channels:

The OM5 fiber optic cable jacket has the specific color – lime green. OM5 fiber has the same core diameter of legacy OM3 and OM4 fiber, but it can maintain longer wavelengths above 850 nm. All the OM5 fiber solutions are guaranteed by various tests to be high quality.

It is worth recalling, that the Premium-Line fiber optic solutions meet the requirements of TIA/EIA-568and ISO 11801 standards.
